The Test Manager takes responsibility for the quality of the project’s deliveries. The role involves coordinating teams, quality & test advocacy, resource planning & management, reporting and resolution of issues that impede the testing effort. Key duties are the coordination of all testing activities during every stage of the test process, as well as coordination with senior executives on testing projects and strategies. Authoritative guidance and advice to the test team is an important aspect of the job, as is advising on the practicality of the project. As well as a knowledge of end to end test management, risk-based/non-functional testing and working in Agile methodology.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and co-ordinate the End-to-End Assurance and Test Strategy in the systems development life cycle
  • Provision of technical direction and governance (for Assurance and Testing)
  • Liaison with the Migration Partners/IT Delivery Leads appointed to deliver on their behalf, to ensure consistent interpretation of our mutual test strategies.
  • Product delivery implementation activities, managing deliverables, project budgets, planning and forecasting, involved in recruitment and rotation plans.
  • Providing test direction for the area
  • Analyse new work and changes to existing projects to estimate the effort needed and to determine people and test environment requirements.
  • Produce the project test strategy and/or test approach.
  • Report on results and track progress and test status throughout the development and release lifecycle
  • Create detailed test schedules, including identifying the dependencies on other areas.
  • Ensure all subordinate test documentation is produced by the appropriate individual & review
  • Plan and managing all test stages for the project including co-ordination with external teams
  • Attend project checkpoint meetings
  • In depth Test Management knowledge
  • Running a CAB (Change Advisory Board)
  • Change/Release and Configuration Management experience
  • Good appreciation/experience of Test Automation
  • Experience with implementing testing standards and strategies for complex projects.
  • Strong communicator and experienced in supporting less experienced members of the team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Significant experience in software testing
  • Demonstrable experience of presenting test results to different audiences.
  • The ability to work with teams and co-ordinate resources from different business areas.
  • Must have worked on 5 Business Change Programmes or Projects
  • Working with internal company staff members, external suppliers & external customers
  • Organised, professional and with a "can do" attitude.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • (BCS) Professional Certificate - Software Tester
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (2018)
  • ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level - Test Manager
